Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal Temple Nanganallur
Nanganallur derives its name from Sri Raja Rajeswari in the form of a 16-year-old girl, known as “Nangai,” located at 16th Street Thillai Ganga Nagar, Nanganallur. Originally called Nangai-Nallur, it eventually became Nanganallur.
The Sri Raja Rajeswari Temple and Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal Temple are part of the private Sri Raja Rajeswari Ashram (AVR Trust), headed by Sri Rajagopala Swamigal.
Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal Temple:
- Located within the Sri Raja Rajeswari Temple complex, this temple was also directed to be constructed by Sri Raja Rajeswari.
- Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal is installed on eight yantras inscribed with eight letters.
- The temple faces west and features a small Dwajasthambam and Balipeedam, with Garudan opposite. The shrine consists only of a sanctum and Vimanam.
- Surrounding the shrine are Veera Anjaneya and Navagraha’s (not in regular positions), with stucco images of eight directional gods on the pillars.
Legend:
- Worshiping Lord Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal is believed to relieve one from Sarpa dosham.
Temple Timings:
- The temple is open from 06:00 to 14:00 and from 17:30 to 20:45.
How to Reach:
- The temple is situated on the 16th street, Thillai Ganga Nagar, Nanganallur.
- It is very close to the Nanganallur subway, which connects to Mount Road.
